Fishing:
Big Jessie Lake has a very good natural population of Walleye, Northern Pike,
Crappie, Bass and Jumbo Perch. In addition, the DNR has stocked Big Jessie every
3 years, including several million Walleye fry in the '90s alone. These fish are now
fun to catch and the perfect size to make a shore lunch feast! (Jessie Lake fish data)

Hunting:
The hardwoods of north-central Minnesota that make up the Chippewa National
Forest offer the absolute finest ruffed grouse hunting in the state. Take the
following link to learn more about this fantastic upland game bird.
The abundance of public land and shoreline in this area also lends itself to great
hunting of ducks. From local mallards and wood ducks to late-migrating divers,
duck hunters will find ample opportunity to take advantage of the fall flight. The
Minnesota DNR keeps up-to-date waterfowl information posted.
Northern Minnesota has always been famous for the quality of whitetail deer it
produces. Recent mild winters have allowed the herd to rebound nicely. Check the
DNR for deer data (we're in area 168). For more whitetail deer information, visit
Whitetails Unlimited and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association. Whether
pursuing by bow or by rifle, Jessie View can be your hunting camp without the hassle!
Check out the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) for other fishing/hunting information
